We joined Mayor Jim Gray and Councilman Julian Beard at Kirklevington Park Monday for the grand opening of the Cricket Wireless SkateSpot. This park features real world obstacles such as stairs, benches, and a jersey wall. It’s a safe place to hone your street skating skills as well as flat ground tricks as well. We were joined by, a group pushing to get more safe community skateparks built and established around the city. Cosmic of course grilled out and hosted a game of S.K.A.T.E (like the game of H.O.R.S.E. in basketball, but with skateboard tricks) and the weather cooperated. Everyone had a great time and left with a positive attitude about what we can accomplish in the future for our local communities.
