It was certainly a hot day as usual at the 8th annual Cosmic Invasion. There were people warming up already when we started setting up at around 9am. Things got underway quickly with the help of some Monster Energy Drink and the event started to get going. Rock and indie bands took to the stage throughout the day while the Bullis gyro cart hustled out tasty lamb, beef, and chicken sandwiches.
We featured some mini competitions this year. In addition to the regular competition we had: Aldrin Garcia’s High Ollie Challenge sponsored by Powell Skateboards, a best trick contest sponsored by DC, a hippie jump contest sponsored by Nike, and a barrel jump contest sponsored by Vans.
Lenny Rivas, Keelan Dadd, Marcus McBride, and Derrick Wilson from DGK were signing autographs and tossing out free product for all the fans. Josh Bell from DC held things down in the judges booth all day long, emceeing and judging the contests.
We’d like to put out another thanks to everyone who came out for Invasion and to those involved with it’s operations. You all help make this the best skateboarding event around year after year!
